As COVID-19 causes massive disruption to education and youth-focused systems across the state, young people in need of services, meals, housing, stability, and safety are struggling to find support. It is critical that students, youth, and young adults who are experiencing homelessness are not left out of our community’s response to the pandemic.
Now more than ever, we must act to protect this incredibly vulnerable population of young people. With your donation to the Washington State Student and Youth Homelessness COVID-19 Response Fund, we can quickly provide financial resources to community-based organizations and schools across Washington State to meet the immediate needs of young people experiencing homelessness during this crisis. Here are some of the ways that your donation will be used:
- Financial assistance for housing, food, and basic needs
- Computer/hardware equipment for school and work
- Internet/Wi-Fi access
- Motel/hotel rooms for safe shelter and to allow social distancing
- Hygiene, cleaning supplies, and personal protective equipment
100% of the funds received will be used to support organizations and the young people that they serve. Together, we can ensure that students and young people across Washington State have access to much-needed support.
Building Changes is a 501(c)3 tax-exempt organization and your donation is tax-deductible within the guidelines of U.S. law. To claim a donation as a deduction on your U.S. taxes, please keep your email donation receipt from GiveDirect as your official record.
