Marina Village Holiday Drive to Support our Neighbors

Marina Village

Dear Marina Village neighbors,

We invite you to join us in a holiday fund drive to support Marina Village Inn (MVI) families in our neighborhood.

Thanks to support from Building Futures and others, 50 adults and 24 children have called the MVI their home since last April, protecting them from COVID-19. We have been collaborating with Building Futures, a respected family service agency in the East Bay whose mission is to support those who aspire to secure a safe place free of homelessness and domestic violence. For more information, click here for their annual report or visit www.bfwc.org.

Despite the virus resurgence, funding for this project (including a variety of healthcare, and other social services) may discontinue in January 2021. As the MVI residents face the hardship of moving during the winter holidays, we hope you will join us in supporting them and conveying our neighborly goodwill. Consider giving whatever feels significant for you - every amount is appreciated! Please also forward this to friends and neighbors to help meet or exceed our goal.

In community,

Nancy Shemick and Cynthia Chavez
Marina Village Homeowners

P.S. To convey our neighborly goodwill and support, we have set a collective fundraising goal of $2,500 by 11pm on Saturday, December 12th, 2020. Toward that goal or beyond, we invite you to contribute funds at campaigns.givedirect.org/mvi2020. The staff of Building Futures will purchase gift cards from the proceeds. Unfortunately, physical gifts are not possible during this pandemic. We would be thrilled to count on your support!
